"Calici di Stelle" (Goblets of Stars)
On August 10, celebrate San Lorenzo with a full calendar of events from dawn to dusk.
On Aug. 10 in Siena, celebrate the night of San Lorenzo with "Calici di Stelle." The successful combination of wine and shooting stars will take place in some of the city's most striking locations. It will be possible to visit symbolic places of culture, taste great wines, and observe the stars.
Art lovers will be able to take advantage of the extraordinary openings with free admission from 9 p.m. to midnight of the Civic Museum, they will be able to attend theatrical performances, exhibitions and art shows scattered throughout the city. Special openings also include the Giuliano Briganti Library and Photo Library, guided tours of the Teatro dei Rinnovati, artistic performances and musical interventions.
Astronomy enthusiasts will be able to contemplate the celestial vault in search of shooting stars from an exceptional observation point, the Orti dei Tolomei, in collaboration with the Siena Astrophilic Association.
And finally, wine connoisseurs will be able to taste a selection of great Italian and foreign wines in the spelndid setting of the Bastione San Domenico in Fortezza Medicea.
