Musical Summer in San Galgano
Every summer, great international music is played in the magical Abbey of Chiusdino
The Abbey of San Galgano, which is only a few kilometers from Siena, has two main attractions: the large roofless church and the hermitage of Monte Siepi where, according to legend, St. Galgano retired to hermit life in 1170. As a symbol of peace he stuck his sword inside the rock, where it still stands today.
